How do solar systems work?Our solar collectors capture the sun's radiation, conducting the heat to the liquid in the panels or tubes. The heated liquid is then pumped via stainless steel pipes through a coil in your insulated tank. The water in your insulated tank conducts the heat from the coil, resulting in hot water which can used throughout your home.
Can I get a government grant?As long as your home was built before 2006 and you haven't received a solar grant in the past, you are eligible for a government grant. If you order a system from us, we will walk you through each step of the process and assist you with your grant application. Is Ireland's climate sunny enough?Sure it is! Our solar systems don't need direct sunlight. They work on natural daylight, which Ireland gets plenty of. So, while you may not be content sunbathing in Irish weather, your solar panels will be more than happy to do so!
Is my home suitable for solar panels?We have installed solar systems on everything from country cottages to city houses. We have a variety of different systems which suit the majority of homes. Basically, if you have a roof, we can install solar panels on it.
How can solar energy help the environment?Ireland are currently 14th on the EU's CO2 emission list. Depending on fossil fuels to heat our homes is drastically increasing global warming. By installing a solar system in your home you will make your home more energy sufficient, helping to make our environment a healthier one.
Will I need to get planning permission?The vast majority of homes are allowed to install a solar system without any additional permission. Some listed properties or houses located within a conservation area may require additional permission. How long will it take to install the solar system?Just one day! Our team will arrive at your home in the morning and begin installing your new state of the art solar system. We will be in and out in one day so you can start enjoying your solar power right away!
Are you registered with the SEAI?Yes, of course! We are registered with the SEAI and also the 'The Better Home Scheme' as approved installers and providers of approved products. All of our technicians are fully qualified solar installers so your home is in safe hands!
Will a solar heating system add value to my home?Yes, definitely! Installing a solar system in your home can dramatically increase your homes BER rating. The SEAI claim that research proves buyers will pay significantly more for an environmentally friendly home. They also say that 70% of all buyers consider energy efficiency to be highly important when buying a home.
How will my solar panels look?A lot of the older solar panels weren't too pleasing on the eye. However, our solar systems are manufactured using the latest technology. Our panels are highly efficient, very robust, can be integrated with your roof and at a glance they look like a skylight window.
Will my solar system come with a warranty?Yes, of course it will! We are committed to supplying high quality systems, so we offer up to a 20 year warranty on our solar collectors to give you peace of mind.
Will I need to maintain my solar system?We use only the highest quality components and our technicians are trained to the highest standard ensuring that no regular servicing is required.
How much does a solar heating system cost?When you book a free consultation our marketing consultants will survey your home and explain the exact cost to you. It is hard to say without seeing your home because there are so many variables involved like the complexity of the system, the type of collectors, the layout of your home, hot water usage etc. One thing is for sure though, it will save you a LOT of money!
Will I need to learn anything technical?Nope, nothing at all! Our solar systems are specifically designed for homeowners with no technical knowledge. We will provide you with a solar controller so you can monitor your system but don't worry, it's very easy to use and our expert technicians will advise you on all of it's features.
Do you guys have insurance?Of course! We carry public/product liability of €6,500,000. So, while we have never had a claim to date, you can rest assured that you are covered.
Do you have any customer support?Our dedicated customer support team are available 9am - 5.30pm on weekdays. They are on standby waiting to answer any question you may have.
The installers and electricians were most pleasant, efficient, tidy and helpful. I have not always had positive experiences with other workers in my home, well done!
